Celebrating their 40th anniversary, The Green Fields of America is an ensemble that showcases some of Irish America's finest traditional performing artists. It was the first group on either side of the Atlantic to bring together Irish vocal, instrumental and dance traditions on the concert and festival stage. Sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts a record five times, the Green Fields has performed all over the United States since the late 1970s.
Join them on their 40th-anniversary tour of Scotland and Ireland in January 2019. This historic tour of three of the most well-curated festivals of Celtic and world music includes Celtic Connections in Glasgow January 24th, Templebar TradFest in Dublin January 26th and IMBOLC festival in Derry Jan 27 and 28th 2019. The tour is made possible by a generous grant from USArtists International, a program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Howard Gilman Foundation, and The Trust for Mutual Understanding.
